HEEL
We are cruising along just like a missile, leading the pack on top of
our game on top of the world we are the world we are looking out the Windows
on the World from our SUV our Superior Universal Vanquishing machine and
then suddenly {silence, looking out in horror as if from Windows on
the World} But then we just go on and do what needs to be done be
heroic be stoic be all that we can be. We "just do it!" Just
like the ad says “Not that you would, but to know that you could!
Not that you would but to know that you could”
{Sing} “We are 13 going on 50, learning to rule the world!”
But then, a look in the mirror. A loss of equilibrium, a dizziness, an
inability to find a fixed point of reference in the world. {manipulating
body, twisting and torquing} We are used to: a change, an adjustment,
a reckoning, a rearrangement of constituent consecutive opposing complementary
adjoining parts. We are not used to: a rubbing together of fascia. The
unpleasant percussion of bone hitting bone. Hard rubbing against soft
rubbing against soft. The friction the burn of living against living,
of a body in trauma. The unexpected twist; a stammer a stagger a wrenching
torque, a tic a shake a tremor. The condensing, crushing, compacting of
body on body on top of body. We prefer free choice between…an adjustment,
a change, a flexion here {bend forward} which we have, an extension
{bend back, extend arm} which we have no longer, due to age,
resistance, arrogance, bitterness, anger, resentment, injury, internal
trauma, external attack, whether perceived or actual.
We reserve the decision no longer to give to flex, to go with the flow,
to blow in the wind the answer my friend is blowing in the wind the answer
is blown up and gone.
